left: Earl Stockdale, son of C.C. "Pup" Stockdale
and his second wife, Nancy, who predeceased him; Blaine Stockdale,
son of C.C. Stockdale and his third wife, Mary Jane Adams, who
outlived him by a good measure; and Maurice West, husband of
Miriam, Blaine's half sister and Mary Jane's daughter by her first
husband, Shofner Powell, who died of appendicitis. C.C. also
had two children with his first wife, Minnie Pearl Bowser, who
died in a flu epidemic - Mildred, who
never married, and Arthur. A young girl of only 8 years old
when her mother died, Mildred went to live with C.C.'s childless
brother, John, and his wife, Edna, who later adopted her.
